Job Description:

• Assigned onboard the Jumbo vessel to weld sea fastenings, maintenance works where welding is required, fitting of various metal parts as preparations for sea fastening and or maintenance before welding or installation.
• Removal of sea fastenings or maintenance parts by cutting.
• Assisting: Maintenance and repairs of deck and engine room
• Welding Method: Arc welding and Gas and Oxygen Welding.
• Cutting of Metals: Gas and Oxygen
• Flushing of Method: Gas and Oxygen or gouging.

Job Requirements:

• Technical knowledge and practical skills of arc welding, gas and oxygen cutting, electric gouging.
• Technical knowledge and practical skills maintenance arc welding, gas and oxygen cutting and electric gouging tools and equipment.
• Technical knowledge and practical skills in fitting, pipes and metal parts.
• Knowledge of the English language to perform tasks and ship parts.
• Basic knowledge of the JMS/Procedures/Documents/Guidelines in respect of the tasks.
• Valid Certificate of Fitness for Seafaring.
• Valid Certificate of Fire Fighting and Life Saving Equipment onboard ships.
• Experience with seagoing experience preferably from heavy lift or bulk vessel.

Position: Geotechnical Data Engineer

Duties:

• The position is similar to the one of Bernard Bernardo:
• Geotechnical data collection from different sources (site geotech lab, superintendents, etc)
• Handling and sorting of the geotechnical information
• Input of data into our database according to the established procedures
• Handling and processing of such data through specialized GIS software (Mapinfo) in order to produce graphs and charts
• All above tasks and activities shall be done in full compliance with established QA/QC procedures
• The candidate will work side by side with Bernard and will have Bart Hooiveld as direct superior. He will liaise with our two geotechnical engineers Dries and Robert.

Skills and education:

• Technical background and studies in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering is a definite advantage
• Previous experience as geotechnical laboratory technician is also a plus
• Knowledge of QA/QC practical concepts and ability to understand them and to work in accordance
• Computer literate and proficient with the common office software
• Knowledge of ACAD is an advantage
• Familiarity and experience with other software as databases and/or GIS is preferred. At least it is required will and ability to learn quickly new specialized software

• Must possess a valid SMAW WQT certificate

Qualifications:

• Candidate should be familiar with British standards.  I.e., candidate should be experienced in design that is based on British standards.
• It is desirable that the candidate has experience working in Singapore.
• Candidate should be able to use geotechnical design software such as Plaxis, Slope/W etc., and should be able to use AutoCAD, Excel etc.
• Candidate should be able to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently.
• Successful candidate will work below an Engineering/Design Manager, and should be able to follow instructions to assist his superior
